Rates for on site services for the home or office (Free Initial Consultation)

The consulting rate is very competitive at $45 per hour plus a service call charge and 2 hour minimum on site and 1 hour minimum bench charge if work is done at my office. Competitors charge from $50 to $125 per hour). This rate is so competitive because I am restarting my consulting business after being employed by corporations that have downsized or have gone into bankruptcy.

Bartering is a consideration but not a preferred method of payment.

Payment schedule is 25% at start of the project in advance, if project exceeds 40 billable hours then payment is made at each 40 hours. The balance is payable upon completion and approval by the client. The larger projects are divided into milestones which are checked, tested and approved by the client before payment is made. Involvement and modifications to the project by the client are encouraged with a revision to the project scope and adjustment of the estimate. Payment is in the form of cash or check at the present time, credit card servicing is in the works. Upon receipt of payment the final product will be uploaded to the client’s web site.

Who will see my web site if I had one?
According to The Harris Poll^® #18, April 17, 2002 http://www.harrisinteractive.com fully two-thirds (137 Million) of all U.S. adults use the Internet.

There are hundreds of programmers or web site HTML shops out there that will gladly quote you a "per page" rate somewhere between $50.00 and $500.00. "That's quite a range," you may be saying. "Why?" Well, I can't tell why in every case, but it is a fairly safe bet that the person or company quoting $50.00 per page is going to require that you turn over completely ready-to-use text and graphics and they will "fit" your material into an existing cookie-cutter template. You will pay generic fees and receive a generic web site. It won't stand out and it probably won't accomplish what you need. We will shop the internet net for a prototype of examples to show you feel will work for you. Then we will work out your specifications together. The more of the text, graphics and functional design you can provide the more you will save.

What does Cowboy Consulting Company charge for Web Design?
Assuming that the client supplies the text and graphics for a site 1 page you would be looking at a minimum of the $60 range. The difference between the low and high figures depends on the number of graphics required and the amount of work needed to prepare them for the Web. Sites with more pages, research, and sites requiring photography, scanning services or more extensive graphic services or sites that incorporate e-commerce would obviously cost more to develop. Cowboy Consulting Company will try to tailor your design to fit your budget. Your web site will be developed from my office (this will save you a lot of money) and I will not need to tie up your computer.

I will set up the web space on your ISP dial up service, or provide you with a local ISP host for about $9.95 per month and get your web site submitted to over 100,000 search engines for $8.25 per month. I will upload the web site that I developed and call you to check it to see if it meets all of your needs and guarantee all the work.

I strongly believe that each project, whether a simple task or a complex program integration or Internet web site deserves to be created to your real needs. That means that I can't just toss out approximate costs without analyzing your requirements. I have developed a questioner for potential clients to fill out which allow me to bid both the time and cost of your project.

Does Cowboy Consulting Company give free estimates?
Yes. All prospective clients will receive a free time and cost estimate based on a free one-hour design consultation.

What is included in my web site design price?
The price quoted in the free estimate includes the cost of creating the web pages and uploading them to a web server. It also includes resizing and compressing any graphics to make sure they load efficiently. Once the site has been finalized and loaded to the server we will make minor changes to the site, free of charge, for 30 days. Minor changes include: fixing typos, re-wording text, repositioning graphics, adjusting the color of graphics that may not look right, etc. Minor changes DO NOT include: adding pages, making changes to the navigation system, changing the color scheme of the whole site, etc

I have a reputation for complete, no-problem PC setups that start with on-time delivery, include full diagnostics and bench-marking, and conclude with easy to understand demonstrations and training.

After an initial personal consultation, I will shop the area retailers, and then recommend to you the products that will best meet your individual needs. If you prefer to do your own shopping that's fine too. I have no conflict of interest like many computer consultants who recommend the software or PC equipment and then turn around and sell you what they recommend.

I provide extended technical support by letter, phone, fax, email, MS Netmeeting and via scheduled site visits. Two levels of technical support are offered:

1. Demand Service Priority support may be purchased as required at any time after paid installation. Demand Service includes:

a. Major revisions and modifications not specified at the time of purchase.

b. Retraining, or training for extra personnel.

c. Reworks and repairs necessitated by product misuse or abuse.

Demand Service fees are set by the job or by the session; the minimum fee is $45.

2. Contract Service
Corporate clients and those with multiple products installed may prefer to budget an annual prepaid fee for unlimited minor revisions, adjustments, consultations and tutorial refreshers. Contract Service begins at $300 per annum.

3. Cowboy Consulting CO can Scan all of your photo prints, 35mm slides or documents into text updateable formats at the usual low hourly rate to convert them, not a per each cost. Several formats are available at your choice. Compare Kinko's cost of $9.00 per image. Get all of your non replaceable photos stored on a permanent safe CD or they can be uploaded to a "Free" photo web site to share with others. Photo enhancement and repair is available.

After my initial personal consultation with you and I understand your needs, I will shop the area retailers for the best pricing, then recommend to you the products that will best meet your individual needs. If you prefer to do your own shopping with my recommendations of the applications or office hardware that you may need that will be fine as well. I do not sell you anything, thus there is absolutely no conflict of interest
